Johnnie McGinness
I started DUN Strategic because I kept seeing the same pattern: organisations with good tools, good people, and good intentions, but no coherent way to connect what they know about customers to what customers actually experience.
The name comes from the Scottish Gaelic word for a stronghold. A place of quiet strength. That is what I try to build: not more noise, but a foundation that holds.
I have spent twenty years in marketing, technology, and customer experience, across automotive, financial services, retail, and insurance. I have led teams, built programmes, and watched expensive platforms fail to deliver because nobody thought about the connective tissue.
Now I work with a small number of clients who want to get this right.
What I do and do not do
- Diagnosis: finding where the real problem is
- Strategy: designing what should connect to what
- Governance: building frameworks that hold over time
- Orchestration architecture: how journeys, content, and signals fit together
- Implementation: I work alongside your teams or delivery partners
- Platform configuration: I will advise, but I will not be in the tool
- Creative production: I can shape the brief, not produce the assets
- Pitch theatrics or credential decks
- Staff augmentation or body-shop consulting
- Work where I cannot see the whole picture
